The Mitzvah of Tzedakah – Learn and Give

When

Sunday, October 29, 2023
5:00pm - 6:30pm

Event Type

We all want to fulfill the crucial mitzvah of tzedakah. Resources are finite and with the added stress of Israel’s immediate need, other key issues remain. These issues become more important because they don’t have the urgency that war does. Since resources that go to one organization cannot be donated elsewhere, how can we know where to give?

Join Beth El’s Tzedakah Hevra online (click here for Zoom link) to hear from representatives of three organizations to learn about their missions, values, directions, and what they do with our donations:

The Tzedakah Hevra is a group of Beth El members who come together and make collective decisions about how to distribute our pooled tzedakah contributions. We collaboratively develop a roster of Jewish organizations locally, nationally, internationally, and within Israel to whom we provide monetary support. We continuously discuss issues and grapple with questions related to philanthropy.

This program is presented by the Beth El Adult Ed Committee in conjunction with the Beth El Tzedakah Hevra. For more information email Ira Silver.
