Adar is around the corner! This year’s Purim schedule includes:

Saturday, March 4

• 7:30 PM — Beth El’s Purim Spiel: Mordy Python and the Whole Megillah 

Sunday, March 5 — BE Inspired Purim activities:

• 9:00 AM – Purim Puppet and Shadow Puppet Show 
• 9:30 AM – Purim Carnival

Monday, March 6

Tuesday, March 7

• 12:30 PM – Purim study (Zoom only) with Rabbi Breindel (Zoom link) — “Wicked Women: Esther and Vashti in Music, Art and Midrash”

The story of Purim challenges us to engage with women’s power… and men’s fear of that power. Together, we’ll explore the roles of Vashti and Esther, the two strongest women in this story, and their portrayal in Jewish and Christian art, music and Midrash. Our conversation will cover issues of power/lessness and our ongoing quest to derive new meaning (in a post-Roe world) from this challenging, timeless tale!
