Just in time for Chanukah, we offer a variety of fair trade artisan-made items — jewelry, scarves, yarmulkes, beaded ornaments, and more. All proceeds go directly to benefit the secular Asociacion Bendicion de Dios in Alotenango, Guatemala. Since 2002, this preK–9 school has provided effective education for the poorest families who cannot afford the costs of public education as well as community support, such as housing development. Under the Same Moon is the all-volunteer American fund-raising arm for the school, providing about one-third of the operating budget as well as special extras such as food baskets and bonuses for the teachers.
