Our exploration of Jewish fantasy and science fiction continues with A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller, Jr.  Willing a Hugo Award in 1961, this book is one of the seminal works of post-apocalyptic science-fiction.  Its timeless themes of spirituality, conflict, despair and hope have influenced speculative fiction right up through the present (such as the new, highly-regarded show, Fallout).
