First Fridays Shabbat

This month’s theme: friendship. There’s no time like midsummer to connect with old friends, and make new ones! Newcomers and “regulars” alike are invited to join for a fun, musical, and family-friendly evening at Beth El. This First Friday will also include a special bonus: come meet with Beth El’s new Assistant Director of Education, Aaron Marans!

• 5:30pm — Shabbat for tots and those who love them. All welcome.
• 6:15pm — Dinner: pizza (please register here), salad, and challah. (RSVP suggested for all, but required for dinner)
• 7:00pm — Interactive, musical, participatory Shabbat service led by Rabbi Josh and Cantor Vera
• 8:00pm — Kiddush, oneg, desserts, and schmoozing

What is First Fridays?

It’s Shabbat with accessible-to-all engagement built in. Increasing in maturity as the evening progresses, First Friday is all about community, Shabbat, and being together as a unified family. It typically happens on the First Friday of each month but there are some exceptions, so please consult the calendar if you have a question.

Come for any part or all of it — it’s up to you. Our goal is to be inclusive and help you access in any way we can. If there is any way we can better accommodate, please email the office to let us know.
