Mitzvah Mall

Under the Same Moon (UTSM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps support a preK-8 school, Bendición de Dios (BdD) in Alotenango, Guatemala. BdD educates about 500 children, most of whom cannot afford the $300 in annual costs needed to attend the “public” schools there. Beth El raises money for UTSM by collecting donations and selling handcrafted items made by indigenous artisans, as well as locally sourced Guatemalan coffee from Dean’s Beans. Ten percent of proceeds from this Mitzvah Mall will be donated to Congregation Beth El. You can purchase UTSM items online, though the selection will not be as good as the in-person event at Beth El.
