Lag B’Omer Bonfire: Honoring the Mystical Power of Storytelling

When

Saturday, May 9, 2026
6:30pm – 8:30pm

Event Type

Come join Congregation Beth El and B’nai Or of Boston for a Lag B’Omer gathering around the fire with s’mores!

“Lag” is an acronym for לג the 33rd day of the Omer, which takes us from Pesach to Shavuot. On Lag B’Omer, we celebrate the life of Rebbe Shimon Bar Yochai, the protagonist of the Zohar, our medieval mystical masterpiece. Rashbi, as he’s known, was a revealer of the hidden. So too storytelling reveals the hidden by opening up the personal and particular into the universal. Come share a story with us — maybe it’s how you fell in love, an amazing account of synchronicity or healing you experienced. Or maybe it’s your favorite fairy tale. Everything is welcome, but please do keep it no more than a few minutes so we can mindfully share the time with everyone.

NOTE: This event is limited to Beth El members. It’s free, but donations are welcome and suggested to help cover the cost of the event. Space is limited. Registration will close when capacity is reached.

LOCATION: 181 Oxbow Road, Wayland, MA. Register here.
