Join us for a haimish (“homey”) and creative Shabbat evening. Arrive with your dish at 6:45 to set up, and our program will begin at 7pm. We’ll come together with our clergy to light candles, make kiddush and motzi (blessings over the fruit of the vine and bread), and share a potluck Shabbat meal complete with warm conversation and Shabbat song.
This will be an innovative service experience — while we won’t stick strictly to the liturgy, there will be an opportunity to say kaddish yatom (the Mourner’s Kaddish) at the conclusion of the evening. Remote participants will be hosted at a virtual “Shabbos table” for a lightly facilitated online dinner conversation, after which we will unite (hybrid-style) for songs and prayers. For those joining us in the sanctuary, bring your own candlesticks from home, if you wish, to increase our Shabbat light.
Please register if you plan to attend. You are also warmly invited to bring a dish to share.
