SUMMARY:Haimish "Homey" Shabbat
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a haimish (“homey”) and creative Shabbat evenin
 g. Arrive with your dish at 6:45 to set up\, and our program will begin at
  7pm. We’ll come together with our clergy to light candles\, make kiddus
 h and motzi (blessings over the fruit of the vine and bread)\, and share a
  potluck Shabbat meal complete with warm conversation and Shabbat song.\n\
 nThis will be an innovative service experience — while we won’t stick 
 strictly to the liturgy\, there will be an opportunity to say kaddish yato
 m (the Mourner’s Kaddish) at the conclusion of the evening. Remote parti
 cipants will be hosted at a virtual “Shabbos table” for a lightly faci
 litated online dinner conversation\, after which we will unite (hybrid-sty
 le) for songs and prayers. For those joining us in the sanctuary\, bring y
 our own candlesticks from home\, if you wish\, to increase our Shabbat lig
