Circle ’Round for Singing

Freshen up  your inner song this spring! Join Cantor Vera for this month’s Circle Round for Singing: Something Old and Something New, our June session of communal song. We’ll pair exploration of traditional Moroccan Jewish songs (as taught last year at Beth El by Laura Elkeslassy) with new melodies from Live from the Beit Midrash by Rabbi Deborah Sacks Mintz, and a couple of Cantor Vera’s original niggunim. 

Circle ‘Round for Singing is a series of in-person community song circles on Shabbat afternoons throughout 5786. Together we’ll learn, and sing, songs that strengthen us… enthrall us…. challenge us… heal us… deepen and expand our sense of Jewish musical culture and human connection. Each session will have a theme, chosen through the year according to participant interests and passions. No prior singing experience required: these song circles are for you, and all are welcome!
