Join us for our 10th annual MetroWest Tikkun Leil Shavuot celebration — this year at Temple Israel of Natick (145 Hartford St., Natick, MA 01760). The evening will feature:
- 5:30pm — A Shavuot Shababa for young folks and their adults
- 6:00pm — Delicious dairy dinner and cheesecake (click here to reserve by June 8)
- 6:45pm — “Iron Darshan” with Rabbi Raysh Weiss — an activity based on “Iron Chef.” Participants compete in pairs; in each round, the pairs are given three phrases as prompts (their “ingredients”) and then have several minutes to, as a pair, create a drash/short sermon. Then they come back, deliver their drashot, and are judged by both the audience and a panel of judges.
- 7:30pm — Workshops with clergy
- 8:45pm — Keynote speaker Rabbi Dan Judson on “From Boston to Jerusalem: A Short History of American Zionism”
The evening will conclude with a festival Ma’ariv service and the reading of the 10 Commandments. Also available via livestream.
