Circle ‘Round to Drum Your Prayers

For your soul — and the soul of the world.

 Led by Josef Kottler and Cantor Vera

Awaken your soul by drumming and chanting Hebrew prayer-songs together. Learn basic drumming skills and simple drum rhythms to accompany our voices as we celebrate our aliveness, express our gratitude, and connect with Divine Spirit through the rhythm of the drum. Please bring a drum if you have one you’d like to use; drums will be provided for in-person participants.

This workshop is an offering in the Circle ‘Round for Singing series, which is a Hadar Community Group hosted by Congregation Beth El that takes place monthly through June 2027 (dates below).

Circle ‘Round for Singing: Join Cantor Vera for a series of monthly community song circles throughout 5787. We’ll gather on Shabbat afternoons. Together we’ll learn, and sing, songs that strengthen us… enthrall us…. challenge us… heal us… and deepen and expand our sense of Jewish musical culture and human connection. No prior singing experience required: these song circles are for you, and all are welcome!
