 icians are joined by the&nbsp\;Om&nbsp\;Shalom Trio\, featuring award-winn
 ing artists Ranendra Das (tabla)\, Jessie Reagen (cello) and Abhik Mukherj
 ee (sitar) from India and the U.S. Together we'll create a musical Shabbat
  that brings Jewish melodies and classical Indian music into holy conversa

 was born a musician--while Ranendra was still in his mother's womb\, his f
 ather sang Bengali Folk Music and recited taals to him. At age 3\, Ranendr
 a's formal tabla training began\, and has continued ever since. He has stu
 died withmany teachers in Bangladesh and India\, and has been teaching and
  performing tabla professionally since 1996. But Tabla is the master and s
 o his training continues.\n\nRanendra graduated cum laude&nbsp\;with his B
 M in Performance from the University of Bridgeport\, studying Western Clas
 sical and Indian Classical music with Tabla as his major instrument. He ea
 rned his MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College\, and in 2018&
 nbsp\;founded PARA Academy of Music and Arts\, LLC. In addition to teachin
 g and performing tabla\, he is a reviewer for the Connecticut Economic &am
 p\; Community Development Public Art and Grants Program\; a member of the 
 Arts Council of Greater New Haven\; and a mentor with the Southern New Eng
 land Apprenticeship Program (SNEAP)\, which preserves cultural knowledge b
 y supporting teaching relationships between mentors and apprentices.\n\nVe
 rsatile Cellist Jessie Reagen has composed three works for Carolyn Dorfman
  Dance and was a member of Hadar’s inaugural Rising Song Institute Fello
 wship.&nbsp\;Jessie can be seen performing&nbsp\;with a variety of ensembl
 es\, pop tours\, Broadway shows\, as a liturgical musician and as a baroqu
 e cellist. Jessie has recorded for many labels and&nbsp\;has performed at 
 the White House\, Kennedy Center\, Kimmel Center\, Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln
  Center\, Radio City\, Live 8 and on TV with&nbsp\;Adele\,&nbsp\;Beyoncé\
 , Jay-Z\, Billy Joel\, Yeah Yeah Yeahs\, Enya\, Anat Cohen\, Galeet Dardas
 hti\, Phillip Glass and Savion Glover among others. A lover of Jewish Musi
 c\, Jessie was a resident musician for traditional and mindfulness service
 s at B’nai Jeshuran in NYC for 15 years. She is currently playing and si
 nging at various Philadelphia area synagogues as well as with Batya Levine
 \, RAZA\, Jessi Roemer and Aly Halpert. Recent highlights include joining 
 Angella Ahn at the Montana Chamber Music Festival and performing a heavily
  improvised and electronic influenced premiere of “Hilma\,” a Pew Gran
 t recipient\, at the Wilma Theater.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;A seasoned educator\, Jes
 sie published the left-hand cello technique book\,&nbsp\;60 Seconds to Exc
 ellence&nbsp\;through&nbsp\;Ovation Press\,&nbsp\;and is currently a teach
 ing artist with the Philadelphia Lullaby Project.&nbsp\;www.cellochic.com&
 nbsp\;\n\nAbhik Mukherjee is an Indian classical sitar artist of the Etawa
 h gharana known for his passion\, charisma and spontaneity as a performer 
 and improviser. He received his musical training from Pandit Arvind Parikh
  and Pandit Kashinath Mukherjee\, themselves the disciples of the legendar
 y Ustad Vilayat Khan. Abhik began his sitar training at the age of six in 
 Kolkata\, India under the guidance of his father. His first performance wa
 s at the age of nine at the Governor’s house \, Kolkata.&nbsp\;\n\nHe ha
 s performed and given workshops in India\, the United States\, Singapore\,
  Taiwan\, Switzerland\, Germany\, Italy\, Denmark\, Netherlands\, Suriname
 \, Colombia\,&nbsp\;Cuba and Argentina.&nbsp\;\n\nHis performances for the
  memorial of Martin Luther King Junior&nbsp\;at Washington DC&nbsp\;&nbsp\
 ;in front of President Obama\, sharing the stage with Steve Wonder and Are
 tha Franklin\, received critical acclaim. He also performed with the New Y
 ork Philharmonic Orchestra. He has directed music for a few documentaries 
 and played and wrote&nbsp\;songs for mainstream Hollywood movies&nbsp\;lik
 e&nbsp\;On Golden Years\, Low Down and A Call to Spy\,&nbsp\;etc.&nbsp\;\n
 He is a founding member of Brooklyn Raga Massive\, a popular artist collec
 tive of NYC\, and he is also the academic director of Chhandayan\, a leadi
