SUMMARY:Hidden Gems: Yiddish Song Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn to sing some of our favorite off-the-beaten-path Yiddish 
 songs in harmony! In this workshop\, seasoned singers and interpreters of 
 Yiddish song Adah Hetko and Lysander Jaffe will teach a selection of songs
  from their repertoire. Explore the power of Yiddish song through poetry\,
  music\, cultural context\, and above all singing! No experience with Yidd
 ish or singing necessary. Lyrics will be provided in Yiddish\, translitera
 tion and translation.\n\nHetko and Jaffe are the leaders of Boston-based Y
 iddish song ensemble\, Levyosn. Levyosn (“leviathan” in Ashkenazi Hebr
 ew) is inspired by the mythical sea monster of Jewish legend\, traveling t
 he world in search of songs\, krill\, and dreams. Founded in 2021\, the en
 semble has made its mark on the international klezmer scene through though
 tful arrangements of original and traditional Yiddish songs\, blending Ame
 rican and Ashkenazi influences with rich vocal harmonies. They released th
 eir second album\, Levyosn's Dream\, through Borscht Beat in June 2026.\n\
