SUMMARY:Birding with Beth El
DESCRIPTION:We’re blessed to have many protected natural areas near Beth 
 El. Members of the Beth El community are invited to join any of three morn
 ing walks in local conservation areas on Tuesdays\, May 12\, May 19 and Ma
 y 26 with a possible extension to June 2. While we’ll be particularly at
 tentive to birds\, we’ll open our senses to all aspects of nature. We’
 ll walk at a slow pace with frequent pauses to observe\, covering up to 2 
 miles in distance. Join us even if you have no experience with bird watchi
 ng. We’ll learn together how to spot and identify birds by sight and sou
 nd.\n\nConservation areas we may visit include the Assabet National Wildli
 fe Refuge\, Drumlin Farm\, Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge\, variou
 s town conservation areas in Sudbury and adjacent towns\, and Sudbury Vall
 ey Trustees properties. Steve Breit is organizing these walks and will ann
 ounce the destination and parking location by email a day or two in advanc
 e. We’ll leave the designated parking area at 7:30 a.m. and return by 9 
 a.m. or shortly after.\n\nWe’ll be walking on flat or mildly graded trai
 ls. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and long pants with socks that y
 ou can pull over the pants for tick protection. Bring a walking stick if y
 ou need it for stability. Binoculars are desirable but not essential — S
 teve has a couple extras to loan. The Merlin Bird ID app can be very helpf
 ul — install it on your phone before you leave home.\n\nRSVP here!
