Weddings

Yes, there is such a thing as a “BETH EL” wedding. To fulfill our community’s missions of both participation and creativity within the tradition, we encourage couples, whenever possible, to celebrate their wedding at Beth El. Before the wedding procession to the chuppah (wedding canopy)¸a public ketubah (Jewish marriage contract)-signing – legally binding the couple to one another before the full assembly of guests – enriches the feelings of communal joy and delight that come with every wedding. From start to finish, we help to create a ceremony of witnessing and rejoicing, physically and spiritually surrounding the wedding couple with all the love and honor they desire and deserve on this wondrous day.

Coming from a reform Jewish background with an emphasis on ethics, my understanding of Torah and ritual has been enriched at Beth El. The fact that my grandchildren are more observant than I is a source of great comfort.
