MetroWest Free Medical Program

Each Tuesday evening, Congregation Beth El hosts dozens of volunteers who offer free health care services to our neighbors in need. Licensed physicians, nurses, social workers, and other volunteers transform the Beth El sanctuary into a free medical program, offering general medical and specialty care to more than 1500 residents of Metrowest who lack health insurance, each year. We’re proud to be the first synagogue-based free medical program in the U.S.

The MetroWest Free Medical Program is open most Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. More information and a calendar of services can be found on the program’s website (www.metrowestfreemedicalprogram.org).

Where would we find a home — lesbian moms, half Jewish, looking for a community that would feed our souls? A friend said "there's a funky shul in Sudbury — try it." Sixteen years later, here we still are at Beth El — home.
