Family Projects: Miracle Kitchen

“When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap all the way to the edges of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest… you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger.”   Leviticus 19:9-10.

On the second Sunday of each month from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, Beth El families are invited to help prepare and serve meals to 80 people at the Salvation Army’s Miracle Kitchen at 35 Concord Street in Framingham.  This is an enriching opportunity for you and your family to open your eyes and hearts to those who are temporarily or permanently in need. Children ages 8 and older are encouraged to participate in this Mitzvah.  Volunteers will prepare easy-to-cook dinners, set up and serve the meals.  For those interested, please contact Ken Fishman or Lisa Wendell at 508-481-1194.

When my nephew was 4 years old he came to visit and sat in services with me. After about an hour he whispered, "Aunt Susan, I can feel G-d here." I smiled, "Me too, Daniel, that's why I come here."
