This committee sponsors study, lectures, and other activities to promote a stronger connection to and understanding of Israel and the role Israel plays in Jewish life today. They have recently developed a mission statement; their kickoff event this year (on October 28) is a panel presentation by congregants who have lived in Israel. Other programs in the planning stages include a lecture by a reserve colonel in the Israel army on “Israel, Water, and Peace;” a program on “The Jewish Underground Movement in Palestine,” and Yom Ha’atzma’ut programming.
