Shir El – Choral Group

Shir El is Beth El’s singing havurah (group) that performs its way through the Jewish year. We welcome singers in all vocal ranges – from bass to soprano – who would love to join us in heralding in the holidays, spreading musical cheer to local nursing homes, and enhancing area community gatherings. The songs we learn cover a range of spiritual and secular music, both in English and Hebrew, and occasionally Ladino and Swahili. While it helps to read music, it’s not a prerequisite to participating. We generally meet once a week for six to eight weeks prior to a performance. We invite you to be a part of our joyous celebration of song on a regular or “sometime” basis.
