School Committee

Beth El’s School Committee is a group of involved parents and student representatives who meet monthly to discuss school policy and performance issues. Committee meetings are led by the School Committee Chair, and includes the Director of Education. The School Committee actively supports and guides our Religious School. Examples of efforts taken on in the past include:

  • Kick off events at the beginning of the school year
  • Community building programs for parents of Religious School attendees
  • Development of the Parent Handbook
  • Strategic planning for the Religious School
  • Implementing policy changes as needed
  • Reviewing and making recommendations on the school budget including school fees and expenses
  • Collecting feedback and facilitating end of year evaluations of the Religious School – both from students and parents
  • Organizing and sponsoring the annual teacher appreciation dinner
  • Providing input and guidance to the Director of Education on Religious School events and curriculum.
